Footpath Works

Church Road and Lloyds Avenue, Kessingland  – Footway Reconstruction – November 2018 to January 2019

 Suffolk Highways will be reconstructing part of the footway at the locations and dates listed below. This work is necessary to improve the condition of the footway.

 Phase 1: Church Road, Kessingland – Road closure from Whites Lane to Lloyds Avenue  Dates:    Between 26th November and 7th December 2018  (road closure will be in place from  7.30am until 4pm and two-way traffic lights will be in place outside of these hours if safe to do so)

 During the period of the closure, traffic will be diverted via:  Whites Lane – High Street – Field Lane – Lloyds Avenue and vice versa. 

 Phase 2: Lloyds Avenue, Kessingland – between junction of Glebe Road West and Church Road Dates:     Between 10th December and 21st December 2018 (No road closure required - give and take traffic control will be in place during work times)

 Phase 3: Junction of Lloyds Avenue  to o/s 133 Church Road, Kessingland  Dates:  Between 24th December 2018 and 21st January 2019 (multi-way traffic lights will be in place during working hours and removed overnight if safe to do so)

 The times and dates of works may change depending on the weather conditions. If they do change, Suffolk Highways will let you know by updating the information signs on site. 

 There will be restricted access on sections of the footpath while the works are in progress and . pedestrians will be re-directed via an alternative route. Access to properties and businesses will be available but controlled by staff on site. Please speak to one of our staff who will provide access as soon as it is safe to do so. 

 Property accesses may be temporarily affected as the works progress along the footpath in front of residential driveways. Staff on site will liaise with the affected residents with regards to timings and access arrangements. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

 On street parking will be restricted for this period to allow the works to be carried out unobstructed.  Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

 It would be most appreciated if any hedges or trees overhanging the footpath could be cut back prior to the works starting so that all areas of the footpath can be accessed.
