Exciting Apprenticeship Opportunity
Are you a young person looking for a career opportunity or to gain a qualification whilst being paid? Do you know of a young person who might be interested. Kessingland Parish Council wants to employ a young person on an Administration/Committee Clerk Apprenticeship.
The position would give you the opportunity to develop a career in local government whilst benefitting from day release to study for a level 3 qualification. The apprenticeship would last for two years and could result in a permanent position at the end of the apprenticeship as well as support to continue studies to gain professional qualifications.
The working week would be 30hrs over four days, one of which would be your day release and the rate of pay would be £6.00 per hour during the first year of your apprenticeship* with an increase for the second year of your apprenticeship.
You would be joining a small team of employees. Because of this and wide range of work that a parish council does, the job is never boring. The parish council is very committed to the village, its residents and businesses, and you would be involved with some very forward thinking activities to do with climate, culture and events, leisure, planning and community.
If you would like to know more your can pop into the office and speak to us, give us a call on 01502 744367 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org or head to:
where you can find all the information and apply for the apprenticeship (Alternatively we can print you out a copy to complete). If you’re not registered it will help you register. Applications close on the 20th March 2020.
*The council may consider a higher hourly wage for the right candidate.
Youth Club Leaders
The Parish Council is currently looking to employ two Youth Club Leaders to take on responsibility for the organising and running of the council's Youth Cafe. The Cafe currently meets every other Friday night between 6pm to 8pm and caters to young people of school age 5+. Each Youth Leader would be employed for 5hrs per fortnight (130hrs per year) which would facilitate both the actual running of the Youth Cafe on the night but also administration and preparation for the Youth Cafe.
Applicants will need current or recent experience of management of a youth club/youth activity group and hold relevant qualifications and certificates including DBS (although the council will pay for a DBS certificate specifically for this employment). Any additional qualifications would be a bonus and may be reflected in salary which is negotiable depending on experience and/or qualifications and is in line with industry standards.
For application forms please contact the Parish Clerk either by email email@example.com or by phone on 01502 744367. The closing date for applications is 5pm on the 25th March 2022. Applicants invited to interview will be invited to attend up to two sessions of the Youth Cafe so that their working practices and youth interraction can be considered along with a formal interview.
